Sunan ad-Darimi 2611

✧ In the prohibition of selling alcohol

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْآيَةُ فِي آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي الرِّبَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَتَلَاهُنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ ثُمَّ حَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ»

✧ When the verses at the end of Surat al-Baqarah concerning usury were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and recited them to the people, then he forbade trading in wine.
