Sunan ad-Darimi 2491

✧ It is not permissible to shed the blood of a man who attests that there is no deity except Allah

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

لَا يَحِلُّ دَمُ رَجُلٍ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ إِلَّا إِحْدَى ثَلَاثَةِ نَفَرٍ النَّفْسُ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالثَّيِّبُ الزَّانِي وَالتَّارِكُ لِدِينِهِ الْمُفَارِقُ لِلْجَمَاعَةِ

Translation

✧ The blood of a man who testifies that there is no god but Allah is not lawful except for one of three persons: a life for a life, a previously married adulterer, and one who abandons his religion and separates from the community.
