Sunan ad-Darimi 2189

✧ The vision is three.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مَخْلَدِ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«الرُّؤْيَا ثَلَاثٌ فَالرُّؤْيَا الْحَسَنَةُ بُشْرَى مِنَ اللَّهِ وَالرُّؤْيَا تَحْزِينٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَالرُّؤْيَا مِمَّا يُحَدِّثُ بِهِ الْإِنْسَانُ نَفْسَهُ فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ مَا يَكْرَهُهُ فَلَا يُحَدِّثْ بِهِ وَلْيَقُمْ وَلْيُصَلِّ»

Translation

✧ "The dream is three: a good dream is glad tidings from Allah, a dream is grief from Satan, and a dream is from what a person tells himself. So if one of you sees what he dislikes, let him not speak of it, and let him stand and pray."
