✧ There was a man in Madinah—I do not know anyone in Madinah among those who pray toward the qiblah whose home was farther from the mosque than his—and he used to pray the prayers with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It was said to him, "If only you bought a donkey to ride in the heat and darkness?" He said, "By Allah, it does not please me that my home be adjacent to the mosque." The Prophet ﷺ was informed of that, so he asked him about it. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, so that my footsteps and my steps may be written, and my returning to my family and my coming and my going—or as he said." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah give you all of that, and give you all that you hoped for."
