حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ جِئْنَا مِنْ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْخُرَيْبِيِّ إِلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانِ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ جِئْتُمْ قُلْنَا مِنْ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ فَقَالَ مَا حَدَّثَكُمْ قُلْنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ الْحَدِيثَ
فَقَالَ يَحْيَى أَمَا إِنَّ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيَّ كَانَ أَعْلَمَ النَّاسِ بِهَذَا زَعَمَ أَنَّ حَبِيبَ بْنَ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ شَيْئًا
Translation

machine translationAbū Bakr al-Naysābūrī narrated to us, (he said) Ibn Bishr b. al-Ḥakam narrated to us, (he said): ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Bishr b. al-Ḥakam said: We came from ʿAbdullāh b. Dāwūd al-Kharībī to Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān, and he said: "Where have you come from?" We said: "From ʿAbdullāh b. Dāwūd." He said: "What did he narrate to you?" We said: "He narrated to us from al-Aʿmash, from Ḥabīb b. Abī Thābit, from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah" — the hadith.
✧ Yahya said: Indeed, Sufyan al-Thawri was the most knowledgeable of people about this. He claimed that Habib b. Abi Thabit did not hear anything from Urwah b. al-Zubayr.
