[…] Abū Ḥubaysh came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of God, I am a woman who has persistent bleeding (istiḥāḍah) and I do not become pure. Should I leave the prayer?" He said: "No. That is only a vein, and it is not menstruation. When your menstruation comes, leave the prayer, and when it goes, wash and pray." Yaḥyā said: "And when it goes, wash the blood from yourself and pray." Abū Muʿāwiyah added: Hishām said: my father said: "Then perform ablution for every prayer until that time comes."

machine translationḤammād was not alone in narrating it from Hishām. Abū ʿAwānah also narrated it from him; al-Ṭaḥāwī recorded it in his book al-Radd ʿalā al-Karābīsī through his route, with a good (jayyid) chain. Ḥammād b. Salamah also narrated it from him; al-Dārimī recorded it through his route. Abū Ḥanīfah also narrated it from him; al-Ṭaḥāwī recorded it through the route of Abū Nuʿaym and ʿAbdullāh b. Yazīd al-Muqriʾ, from Abū Ḥanīfah, from Hishām.

machine translation"Wash the trace of the blood from yourself and perform ablution." The correct view is that this phrase is from the words of ʿUrwah, on the evidence of Hishām's statement: "My father said: then she performs ablution."

machine translationHishām b. ʿUrwah narrates it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Al-Awzāʿī narrated it from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd al-Anṣārī, from Hishām b. ʿUrwah, from his father, from Fāṭimah bint Qays, and he erred in it. The correct report is from Hishām, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah, that Fāṭimah bint Abī Ḥubaysh […]

machine translationHishām b. ʿUrwah, in the narration of Mālik and others, did not mention the menstrual period (qarʾ) in it, and Hishām is a better memorizer than the one who differed from him in that.
