حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ وَأَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ قَالُوا نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ يَقُولُ

إِنَّ الْعَضْبَاءَ نَاقَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَتْ لَا تُسْبَقُ كُلَّمَا دُفِعَتْ فِي سِبَاقٍ فَدُفِعَتْ يَوْمًا فِي إِبِلٍ فَسُبِقَتْ فَكَانَتْ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَآبَةٌ أَنْ سُبِقَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ النَّاسَ إِذَا رَفَعُوا شَيْئًا أَوْ أَرَادُوا رَفْعَ شَيْءٍ وَضَعَهُ اللَّهُ
