حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُبَشِّرٍ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ نا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُجَالِدًا يَذْكُرُ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ

كَانَ شُرَيْحٌ يُجِيزُ شَهَادَةَ كُلِّ مِلَّةٍ عَلَى مِلَّتِهَا وَلَا يُجِيزُ شَهَادَةَ الْيَهُودِيِّ عَلَى النَّصْرَانِيِّ وَلَا النَّصْرَانِيِّ عَلَى الْيَهُودِيِّ إِلَّا الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يُجِيزُ شَهَادَتَهُمْ عَلَى الْمِلَلِ كُلِّهَا

Translation

✧ Shurayh used to accept the testimony of every religious community against its own community, but he would not accept the testimony of a Jew against a Christian or a Christian against a Jew—except for Muslims, for he used to accept their testimony against all communities.
