✧ On the Woman Who Is Killed If She Apostatizes

نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ نا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عُمَرَ
أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ أُمَّهَاتِ الْأَوْلَادِ لَا يُوهَبْنَ وَلَا يُورَثْنَ يَسْتَمْتِعُ بِهَا سَيِّدُهَا حَيَاتَهُ فَإِذَا مَاتَ فَهِيَ حُرَّةٌ

machine translationʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Muslim al-Qasmalī narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Yūnus b. Muḥammad al-Muʾaddib narrated it from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ. Shaybān b. Farrūkh contradicted him and narrated it from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar, from ʿUmar as his own saying. ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar al-Madīnī also narrated it from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, but the reliable memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) among the students of ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, among them Mālik and Ismāʿīl b. Jaʿfar and others, contradicted him. They narrated it from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar, from ʿUmar as his own saying, and that is the correct version.
