نا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْمَالِكِيُّ نا أَبُو حَفْصٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ نا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ نا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَجَاءَ بْنَ حَيْوَةَ قَالَ

سُئِلَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ عَنْ عِدَّةِ أُمِّ وَلَدٍ فَقَالَ لَا تَلْبَسُوا عَلَيْنَا دِينَنَا إِنْ تَكُنْ أَمَةً فَإِنْ عِدَّتَهَا عِدَّةُ حُرَّةٍ

✧ Amr ibn al-As was asked about the waiting period of an umm walad, and he said: Do not confuse our religion for us. If she is a slave woman, her waiting period is the waiting period of a free woman.
