نا أَبُو بَكْرٍ نا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أنا الشَّافِعِيُّ أنا مَالِكٌ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ أَنَّ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ

كَانَا يَقُولَانِ فِي الرَّجُلِ يَكُونُ عِنْدَهُ أَرْبَعُ نِسْوَةٍ فَيُطَلِّقُ إِحْدَاهُنَّ الْبَتَّةَ يَتَزَوَّجُ إِذَا شَاءَ وَلَا يَنْظُرُ أَنْ تَنْقَضِيَ عِدَّتُهَا

Translation

✧ They both used to say regarding a man who has four wives and divorces one of them irrevocably: he may marry whenever he wishes, and he does not need to wait for her waiting period to end.
