نا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ نا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ بُهْلُولٍ

قَالَ قِيلَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ يُزَوِّجُ الرَّجُلُ كَرِيمَتَهُ مِنْ ذِي الدِّينِ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي الْحَسَبِ مِثْلُهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ لَأَمْنَعَنَّ تَزَوُّجَ ذَاتِ الْأَحْسَابِ إِلَّا مِنَ الْأَكْفَاءِ

Translation

✧ He said: It was said to Abdullah b. Abi Rawwad: Does a man marry his precious daughter to a man of religion even if he is not his equal in lineage? He said: Mis'ar narrated to me from Sa'd b. Ibrahim, from Ibrahim b. Muhammad b. Talha, who said: Umar said: I shall indeed prevent the marriage of women of noble descent except to suitable matches.
