نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا نا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ نا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَا تُقْسِطُوا فِي الْيَتَامَى فَانْكِحُوا مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ النساء 3 الْآيَةَ قَالَتْ هِيَ الْيَتِيمَةُ تَكُونُ عِنْدَ الرَّجُلِ هُوَ وَلِيُّهَا فَيَتَزَوَّجُهَا عَلَى مَالِهَا وَيُسِيءُ صُحْبَتَهَا وَلَا يَعْدِلُ فِي مَالِهَا فَلْيَتَزَوَّجْ مَا طَابَ لَهُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مَثْنَى وَثَلَاثَ وَرُبَاعَ

✧ From ʿĀʾishah regarding the saying of Allah, exalted is He: “If you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry what is pleasing to you of women” (al-Nisāʾ 4:3), the verse. She said: It is the orphan girl who is with a man who is her guardian, and he marries her for her wealth, and treats her badly, and does not deal justly with her wealth. So let him marry what is pleasing to him of women, two, three, or four.
