نا دَعْلَجُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ عَنِ ابْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مُوسَى
يَقُولُ كَانَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ يُثْبِتُ حَدِيثَ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ وَيَقُولُ إِنَّمَا فَاتَنِي مِنْ حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ مَا فَاتَنِي اتِّكَالًا مِنِّي عَلَى حَدِيثِ إِسْرَائِيلَ
Translation
✧ He said: ‘Abd al-Rahman b. Mahdi used to affirm the hadith of Isra’il from Abu Ishaq, and he would say, “The only hadith of Sufyan from Abu Ishaq that I missed, I missed because I relied on the hadith of Isra’il.”
