"...for your wife, and I will give up for you my wife, and I will add more to it." He said: So Allah the Exalted revealed: {وَلَا أَنْ تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ حُسْنُهُنَّ} (al-Aḥzāb 52). He said: Then ʿUyaynah b. Ḥiṣn al-Fazārī entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while ʿĀʾishah was with him, and he entered without permission. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: "O ʿUyaynah, where is the asking of permission?" He said: O Messenger of Allah, I have not asked permission from any man of Muḍar since I came of age. He said: "Who is this fair-skinned woman beside you?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "This is ʿĀʾishah, the Mother of the Believers." He said: Shall I not give up for you one who is the most beautiful of creation? He said: "O ʿUyaynah, Allah has forbidden that." He said: When he left, ʿĀʾishah said: O Messenger of Allah, who was this? He said: "A foolish man who is obeyed, and despite what you see, he is the chief of his people."
