  8. al-Nabī Ṣallá Allāh

✧ Peace be upon him, when he conquered Makkah, said: There is no god but Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, aided His servant, and defeated the confederates alone. Surely every inherited boast that was counted or claimed is under these two feet of mine, except the custodianship of the Kaaba and the watering of the pilgrims. Surely the one killed by mistake, resembling intentional killing — the one killed by whip and stick — bears a heavy blood money, of which forty are pregnant camels with their young in their bellies, meaning one hundred camels.

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ishbīlī

machine translationThe route of ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr is the sound (ṣaḥīḥ) one, that is, the route of Ibn ʿUmar is weak (ḍaʿīf).

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 3177

machine translationʿUqbah b. Aws was declared trustworthy (thiqah) by Ibn Saʿd, al-ʿIjlī and Ibn Ḥibbān, and Muḥammad b. Sīrīn, despite his eminence, narrated from him. Al-Qāsim was declared trustworthy by Abū Dāwūd, Ibn al-Madīnī and Ibn Ḥibbān.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 3177
  • ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Jawzī

machine translationIts chain is confused (muḍṭarib). It is narrated by al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah, who at one time says: from Yaʿqūb b. Aws; at another: from ʿUqbah b. Aws, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ; at another: from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ; and at another: from Ibn ʿAmr.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 3177
  • Ibn al-Qaṭṭān

machine translationSound (ṣaḥīḥ), and the disagreement does not harm it. As for the narration of Ibn ʿUmar, it is not [sound], because of the weakness of Ibn Judʿān.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 3177

machine translationThe hadith of Ibn ʿUmar is sounder (aṣaḥḥ) than the hadith of Ibn ʿAmr.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 3177
  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationThis is a hadith about which there is disagreement on the authority of al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah. It is narrated from him from Ibn ʿUmar, and from him from Ibn ʿAmr. Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl narrated it as a mursal report from al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah, and Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ said: from al-Qāsim, from ʿUqbah b. Aws, from Ibn ʿUmar. And this is more likely.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 3177
