machine translationThis ḥadīth of Isḥāq al-Azraq is a mistake. It is only a statement of the Companion (mawqūf): Ibrāhīm b. Saʿīd narrated to us: Ibn ʿUlayyah narrated to us, from Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl, from Abū al-Mutawakkil, from Abū Saʿīd, as his own saying, and he did not raise it to the Prophet (marfūʿ), and this is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ).
in سنن الدارقطني, p. 2263 - Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī
أخرجه النسائي وابن خزيمة والدارقطني ورجاله ثقات ولكن اختلف في رفعه ووقفه
machine translationIt was recorded by al-Nasāʾī, Ibn Khuzaymah and al-Dāraquṭnī, and its narrators are trustworthy (thiqāt), but there is disagreement about whether it is traced back to the Prophet (marfūʿ) or halted at the Companion (mawqūf).
