And between Abū al-Dardāʾ. He said: Salmān came to visit Abū al-Dardāʾ, and Umm al-Dardāʾ was in shabby clothes. He said, "What is the matter with you?" She said, "Your brother stands in prayer at night and fasts by day, and he has no need of the women of this world." Then Abū al-Dardāʾ came, and Salmān welcomed him and brought food near to him. Salmān said to him, "Eat." He said, "I am fasting." He said, "I swear upon you that you will break it." He said, "I will not eat until you eat." So he ate with him. Then he spent the night with him, until when it was night, Abū al-Dardāʾ wanted to get up, but Salmān prevented him and said to him, "Your body has a right over you, your Lord has a right over you, and your family has a right over you. Fast and break your fast, pray and sleep, go to your wife, and give everyone who has a right his right." Then when it was the face of the dawn, he said, "Get up now if you wish." So the two of them got up, performed ablution, then prayed two units, then went out to the prayer. Abū al-Dardāʾ approached to inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ of what Salmān had commanded him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "O Abū al-Dardāʾ, your body has a right over you," just as Salmān had said. This is the wording of Abū Ṭālib.
