حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى الْحَسَنِ بِصَحِيفَةٍ فِيهَا مَسَائِلُ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْهَا فَمَا تَتَعْتَعَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْهَا حَتَّى أَتَى عَلَى أَرْبَعِينَ شَاةً بَيْنَ نَفَسَيْنِ فَقَالَ فِيهَا شَاةٌ عَلَيْهِمَا

✧ A man came to al-Hasan with a page containing questions he was asking him about, and he did not stammer in any of them until he came to forty sheep between two people, and he said: In them is one sheep upon both of them.
