نا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الدَّقَّاقُ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ بُرْدٍ الْأَنْطَاكِيُّ نا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ نا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

فِي السِّوَاكِ عَشْرُ خِصَالٍ مَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ تَعَالَى وَمَسْخَطَةٌ لِلشَّيْطَانِ وَمَفْرَحَةٌ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ جَيِّدٌ لِلَّثَةِ وَمُذْهِبٌ بِالْحَفَرِ وَيَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَيُطَيِّبُ الْفَمَ وَيُقَلِّلُ الْبَلْغَمَ وَهُوَ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ وَيَزِيدُ فِي الْحَسَنَاتِ

✧ In the siwak there are ten qualities: it pleases the Lord, Most High, and angers Satan; it gladdens the angels; it is good for the gums; it removes cavities; it sharpens the eyesight; it sweetens the breath; it reduces phlegm; it is from the Sunnah; and it increases good deeds.
