✧ On taking the left with the right in prayer

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ نا مُعَلَّى نا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ وَشَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَا

الشَّفَقُ شَفَقَانِ الْحُمْرَةُ وَالْبَيَاضُ فَإِذَا غَابَتِ الْحُمْرَةُ حَلَّتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالْفَجْرُ فَجْرَانِ الْمُسْتَطِيلُ وَالْمُعْتَرِضُ فَإِذَا انْصَدَعَ الْمُعْتَرِضُ حَلَّتِ الصَّلَاةُ

✧ The twilight is of two kinds: the redness and the whiteness. When the redness disappears, prayer becomes permissible. And the dawn is of two kinds: the elongated and the spreading. When the spreading dawn breaks, prayer becomes permissible.
