حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَارِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا تَمِيمَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ يُحَدِّثُهُ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ؓ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَأْخُذُنِي فَيُقْعِدُنِي عَلَى فَخِذِهِ وَيُقْعِدُ الْحَسَنَ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ الأُخْرَى ثُمَّ يَضُمُّهُمَا ثُمَّ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُمَا فَإِنِّي أَرْحَمُهُمَا

Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to put me on (one of) his thighs and put Al-Hasan bin ʿAli on his other thigh, and then embrace us and say, "O Allah! Please be Merciful to them, as I am merciful to them. "
