The Prophet ﷺ prayed—and Ibrahim said: I do not know whether he added to the prayer or omitted from it—When he concluded the prayer with salam, he was asked: O Messenger of Allah, has something new happened concerning the prayer? He said, "What is that?" They said: You prayed such-and-such. He then folded his legs, faced the qiblah, performed two prostrations, and then gave salam. When he turned his face toward us, he said, "If something new had happened concerning the prayer, I would have informed you of it. But I am only a human being like you; I forget just as you forget. So when I forget, remind me. If any of you is uncertain in his prayer, let him determine what is correct, complete his prayer accordingly, then give salam, and then perform two prostrations."
