✧ I was sitting with Abu Hurayrah when a man from Banu Amir b. Sa'sa'ah passed by. They said: 'This is the wealthiest man of the Amir tribe.' He said: 'Bring him back to me.' They brought him back. He said to him: 'I have been told that you have much wealth.' He said: 'By Allah, I have a hundred reddish camels and a hundred dusky ones,' until he enumerated the colors of camels, herds of slaves, and tethered horses. Abu Hurayrah said: 'Beware of the camels' hooves and the sheep's cloven hooves.' He repeated that until the Amir man's complexion changed. He said: 'What is that, O Abu Hurayrah?' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever has camels and does not pay their due in their time of strength and their time of ease — we said: O Messenger of Allah, what is their time of strength and their time of ease? He said: In their hardship and their ease — they will come on the Day of Resurrection as fat and as large as they ever were, and a flat, barren plain will be spread for them, and they will trample him with their hooves. Whenever the last of them passes over him, the first of them will be returned to him, in a day whose length is fifty thousand years, until judgment is passed among the people, and then he will see his path. And if he has cattle and does not give their due in their time of strength and their time of ease, they will come on the Day of Resurrection as fat and as large as they ever were, and a flat, barren plain will be spread for them, and they will trample him, every hoofed one with its hoof, and every horned one will gore him with its horn. Whenever the last of them passes over him, the first of them will be returned to him, in a day whose length is fifty thousand years, until judgment is passed among the people, and then he will see his path. And if he has sheep and does not give their due in their time of strength and their time of ease, they will come on the Day of Resurrection as fat and as large as they ever were, and a flat, barren plain will be spread for them, and every horned one will gore him with its horn, and every hoofed one will trample him with its hoof. Whenever the last of them passes over him, the first of them will be returned to him, in a day whose length is fifty thousand years, until judgment is passed among the people, and then he will see his path.' They said: 'O Abu Hurayrah, what is the due of camels?' He said: 'He gives the noble one, grants the abundant milk one, lends the stallion for breeding, and gives milk to drink.'
