حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، نَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، نَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رَفَعَهُ قَالَ:

إِنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ فِيمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمُ اشْتَرَى مِنْ رَجُلٍ عَقَارًا، فَأَصَابَ فِيهِ جَرَّةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: إِنَّمَا اشْتَرَيْتُ مِنْكَ الْعَقَارَ وَلَمْ أَشْتَرِ مِنْكَ الذَّهَبَ، فَقَالَ الْبَائِعُ: إِنَّمَا بِعْتُكَ الْعَقَارَ بِمَا فِيهِ، قَالَ: فَتَحَاكَمَا إِلَى بَعْضِ مَنْ كَانَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْوَقْتِ، فَقَالَ لِأَحَدِهِمَا: أَلَكَ بِنْتٌ ؟ وَقَالَ لِلْآخَرِ: أَلَكَ ابْنٌ ؟ قَالَا: نَعَمْ قَالَ: فَزَوِّجُوا أَحَدَهُمَا مِنَ الْآخَرِ وَلْيُنْفِقَا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمَا مِنْ هَذَا الْمَالِ

Translation

✧ A man among those before you bought property from a man and found in it a jar of gold. He said to him: I bought the property from you, and I did not buy the gold from you. The seller said: I sold you the property with what was in it. He said: They took their dispute to one of those who was at that time. He said to one of them: Do you have a daughter? And he said to the other: Do you have a son? They said: Yes. He said: Then marry one of them to the other, and let them spend on themselves from this wealth.
