✧ I went out with my father to visit 'Ali when he was ill. My father said to him: 'What keeps you in this place? If you were to die here, only the Bedouin of Juhaynah would attend to you. If you entered Madinah, you would be among your companions, and if what you fear befalls you, your companions would take charge of you.' Abu Fadalah was one of the people of Badr. 'Ali said to him: 'I will not die in this illness of mine, or from this pain of mine. The Prophet ﷺ told me that I will not die until—I think he said—I am struck, or until this is dyed from this,' meaning his head. Abu Fadalah was killed with him at Siffin.
