حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ أَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْخِرِّيتِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ:

خَطَبَنَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَوْمًا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَبَدَتِ النُّجُومُ، وَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يُنَادُونَهُ: الصَّلَاةَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَفِي الْقَوْمِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: تُعْلِمُنِي بِالسُّنَّةِ ؟ لَا أُمَّ لَكَ، إِنِّي شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ، قَالَ: فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَوَافَقَهُ

Translation

✧ Ibn 'Abbas addressed us one day after 'Asr until the sun set and the stars appeared, and the people kept calling out to him: 'The prayer, the prayer!' Among the people there was a man from Banu Tamim. Ibn 'Abbas said: 'Are you teaching me the Sunnah? May you have no mother! I witnessed the Messenger of God ﷺ combine Zuhr and 'Asr, and Maghrib and 'Isha'.' He said: Then I met Abu Hurayrah and he agreed with him.
