حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ وَسَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ قَالَا: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

قِيلَ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ: وَادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَقُولُوا حِطَّةٌ، فَقَالَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا قَوْلًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُمْ ; قَالُوا: حَبَّةٌ فِي شَعِيرَةٍ مُتَوَرِّكِينَ عَلَى أَسْتَاهِهِمْ

Translation

✧ It was said to the Children of Israel: “Enter the gate prostrating and say: ‘Hiṭṭah.’” But those who wronged said a saying other than what they were told; they said: “A grain in a barley,” dragging themselves on their buttocks.
