✧ What 'Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj narrated from Abu Hurayrah

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، نَا مُطَرِّفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ أَحَدًا فِي بَلَاءٍ فَلْيَقُلِ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي عَافَانِي مِمَّا ابْتَلَاكَ بِهِ وَفَضَّلَنِي عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ تَفْضِيلًا، فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ، كَانَ شُكْرَ تِلْكَ النِّعْمَةِ

✧ When one of you sees someone in affliction, let him say: 'Praise be to Allah who has spared me from what He has afflicted you with and has favored me over many of those He created.' If he says that, it will be gratitude for that blessing.
