✧ When the deceased is taken, or one of you, two black and blue angels come to him. One is called al-Munkar and the other al-Nakir. They say: What did you used to say about this man? He says: The servant of Allah and His Messenger. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. They say: We knew that you used to say this. Then his grave is widened for him seventy cubits by seventy cubits, then it is illuminated for him. Then it is said to him: Sleep until you return to your family. He said: He sleeps like the sleep of one whom only the most beloved of his family wakes, until Allah raises him from that resting place. He said: Then the disbeliever is brought and it is said: What did you used to say about this man? He says: I saw people saying something and said it. They say: We knew that you would say that. Then it is said to the earth: Close in upon him. It closes in upon him, and his ribs become disjointed in it. He remains in it tormented until Allah raises him from that resting place.
