وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ: نَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:
ذَبَحْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ شَاةً فَقَالَ: نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ، فَنَاوَلْتُهُ الذِّرَاعَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ، فَنَاوَلْتُهُ الذِّرَاعَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّمَا لِلشَّاةِ ذِرَاعَانِ قَالَ: إِنَّكَ لَوِ الْتَمَسْتَهُ وَجَدْتَهُ
Translation

✧ I slaughtered a sheep for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: 'Hand me the foreleg.' So I handed him the foreleg. Then he said: 'Hand me the foreleg.' So I handed him the foreleg. Then he said: 'Hand me the foreleg.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, a sheep has only two forelegs.' He said: 'If you had looked for it, you would have found it.'
