وَحَدَّثَنَا الْجَرَّاحُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
مَنْ وَلِيَ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ شَيْئًا وَكَّلَ اللهُ بِهِ مَلَكًا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ - أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ - وَمَلَكًا عَنْ شِمَالِهِ يُوَفِّقَانِهِ وَيُسَدِّدَانِهِ إِذَا أُرِيدَ بِهِ خَيْرٌ، وَمَنْ وَلِيَ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ شَيْئًا فَأُرِيدَ بِهِ غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ وُكِلَ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ

✧ Whoever is given charge of any affair of the Muslims, God entrusts with him an angel on his right—I think he said—and an angel on his left, guiding him and directing him if good is intended for him. And whoever is given charge of any affair of the Muslims and other than that is intended for him, he is left to his own self.
