حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَاللَّفْظُ لِنَصْرٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
غَزَا نَبِيٌّ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ فَقَالَ: لَا يَصْحَبْنِي رَجُلٌ بَنَى دَارًا لَمْ يَسْكُنْهَا، أَوْ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً لَمْ يَبْنِ بِهَا قَالَ: وَلَمْ يَسْبِقْ مِنَ الشَّمْسِ إِلَّا شَيْءٌ يَسِيرٌ فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ مَأْمُورَةٌ وَإِنِّي مَأْمُورٌ، اللَّهُمَّ احْبِسْهَا، فَحَبَسَهَا اللهُ سَاعَةً حَتَّى فَتَحَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَمَرَ بِالْغَنَائِمِ فَجُمِعَتْ، فَجَاءَتِ النَّارُ فَلَمْ تَأْكُلْهَا، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ فِيكُمْ غُلُولًا، فَلْيَأْتِ مِنْ كُلِّ قَبِيلَةٍ رَجُلٌ فَلْنُبَايِعْهُ، فَلَصِقَتْ يَدُهُ بِيَدِ رَجُلٍ أَوْ رَجُلَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: فِيكُمُ الْغُلُولُ ! فَأَخْرَجُوا رَأْسَ بَقَرَةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَأَلْقَوْهُ فِي الْغَنَائِمِ فَأَكَلَتْهُ، يَعْنِي النَّارَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ: فَلَمْ تَحِلَّ الْغَنَائِمُ لِأَحَدٍ قَبْلَنَا، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى رَأَى ضَعْفَنَا، فَطَيَّبَهَا لَنَا

✧ A Prophet among the Prophets went on a military expedition after 'Asr and said: 'No man who has built a house but not yet lived in it should accompany me, nor one who has married a woman but not yet consummated the marriage with her.' He said: 'And nothing remained of the sun except a little.' He said: 'O Allah, the sun is commanded and I am commanded. O Allah, hold it back.' So Allah held it back for an hour until Allah granted him victory. He ordered the spoils of war to be gathered, and they were gathered. Then fire came but did not consume them. He said: 'There is misappropriation among you. Let one man from every tribe come forward so that we may pledge allegiance to him.' Then his hand stuck to the hand of one man or two men. He said: 'Among you is the misappropriation!' They brought out a head of a cow made of gold and threw it among the spoils, and the fire consumed them—meaning the spoils. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Spoils of war were not made lawful for anyone before us, and that is because Allah, Blessed and Exalted, saw our weakness and made them good for us.'
