✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from his expedition to Khaybar, he traveled through the night until drowsiness overtook him, so he stopped to rest. He said to Bilal: 'Keep watch for us tonight.' Bilal prayed as much as was decreed for him, while the Messenger of Allah and his companions slept. When dawn approached, Bilal leaned against his mount facing the qiblah. His eyes overcame him while he was leaning against his mount. Neither the Prophet ﷺ, nor Bilal, nor any of his companions woke until the sun struck them. The Messenger of Allah was the first to wake, and he was alarmed. Bilal said: 'May my father and mother be your ransom, O Messenger of Allah; the same thing that overcame you overcame me.' The Messenger of Allah performed ablution, ordered Bilal to give the iqamah, and led them in the morning prayer. When he finished, he said: 'Whoever forgets a prayer should pray it when he remembers it, for Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said: "Establish prayer for My remembrance." (Quran 20:14)'
