حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قَالَ: ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ قَالَ: ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:
قُلْنَا لَهُ ﷺ: مَا كَانَ يَخَافُ الْقَوْمُ إِذَا دَخَلُوا قَرْيَةً أَوْ أَشْرَفُوا عَلَى قَرْيَةٍ أَنْ يَقُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لَنَا فِيهَا رِزْقًا وَقَرَارًا ؟ قَالَ: كَانُوا يَخَافُونَ جَوْرَ الْوُلَاةِ وَقُحُوطَ الْمَطَرِ

✧ We said to him ﷺ: 'What did the people fear when they entered a village or looked down upon a village, such that they would say: O Allah, grant us provision and settlement therein?' He said: 'They feared the tyranny of rulers and the withholding of rain.'
