✧ Abu Umama b. Sahl from Abu Hurayra

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ: نَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: نَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَأَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ:

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَعَى النَّجَاشِيَّ يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَ وَقَالَ: إِنَّ أَخًا لَكُمْ قَدْ تُوُفِّيَ، فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ. وَخَرَجَ بِالنَّاسِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَصَلَّى وَصَفُّوا وَرَاءَهُ وَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ

✧ That the Prophet ﷺ announced the death of the Negus on the day he died and said: 'A brother of yours has died, so pray over him.' He went out with the people to the prayer place, prayed, and they formed rows behind him, and he said four takbirs over him.
