✧ Ali b. Zayd on the authority of Anas

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، نَا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، نَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ:
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمَّا أَرْهَقُوهُ قَالَ: مَنْ يَرُدُّهُمْ عَنَّا وَهُوَ رَفِيقِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ آخَرُ فَقَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ سَبْعَةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَا أَنْصَفْنَا أَصْحَابَنَا
Translation

✧ When they pressed hard upon the Prophet ﷺ, he said: 'Who will repel them from us, and he will be my companion in Paradise?' A man from the Anṣār stood up and fought until he was killed. Then another stood up and fought until seven were killed. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'We have not been fair to our companions.'
