✧ The Basrans from Anas

وَبِهِ:

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ يُرَبِّعُونَ حَجَرًا، فَقَالَ: مَا يَصْنَعُ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ قَالُوا: يُرَبِّعُونَ حَجَرًا يُرِيدُونَ الشِّدَّةَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَفَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ - أَوْ كَلِمَةً نَحْوَهَا - أَمْلَكُكُمْ لِنَفْسِهِ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by some people who were lifting a stone, and he said: “What are these people doing?” They said: “They are lifting a stone, seeking strength.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Shall I not guide you to one who is stronger than him—or a word similar to that—the one among you who is most in control of himself at the time of anger.”
