✧ What Qays b. Abi Hazim narrated from Abu Bakr

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَ: نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ: نَا جَعْفَرٌ الْأَحْمَرُ قَالَ: نَا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ:

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدْتُهُ قَدْ قُبِضَ، فَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ ؓ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: كُفْرٌ بِاللهِ تَبَرُّؤٌ مِنْ نَسَبٍ وَإِنْ دَقَّ

Translation

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and found that he had passed away. I heard Abu Bakr al-Siddiq ؓ say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Disbelief in Allah is disavowing one's lineage, even if it is remote."
