✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the Friday sermon when the people rose and said, "O Messenger of Allah, the rain has ceased, souls are exhausted, and the animals have perished. Pray to Allah to send us rain." He said, "By Allah, we do not see in the sky even a wisp of cloud." Then a cloud formed and spread, and then it rained. They were rained upon until the next Friday. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood to deliver the sermon, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, houses have collapsed and roads have been cut off. Pray to Allah to hold it back from us." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled and said, "O Allah, around us and not upon us." The clouds dispersed from Madinah, and it rained around Madinah but not in it.
