حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْكُوفِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْلَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، قَالَ:

أَرْسَلَنِي أَبِي بِصَحِيفَةٍ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ فِيهَا فَرَائِضُ، فَقَالَ: هَذِهِ فَرَائِضُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، الَّذِي كَانَ يَبْعَثُ عَلَيْهَا السُّعَاةَ، فَقَالَ: لَا حَاجَةَ لَنَا فِيهَا، فَأَتَيْتُ أَبِي فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: دَعْهَا

✧ My father sent me with a document to Uthman containing the shares of inheritance. He said: 'These are the shares of inheritance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, which he used to send collectors with.' Uthman said: 'We have no need of it.' So I went to my father and told him, and he said: 'Leave it.'
