وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ; قَالَ:
لَمَّا انْهَزَمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ مَعَهُمْ جَعَلَتْ تُنَادِي: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ هُزِمُوا، أَوْ كَلِمَةً نَحْوَهَا فَقَالَ: يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَدْ كَفَى، قَالَ: فَوَجَدَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ مِعْوَلًا فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ ؟ قَالَتْ: أَمْسَكْتُهُ ; إِنْ دَنَا مِنِّي أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ بَعَجْتُ بَطْنَهُ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اسْمَعْ مَا تَقُولُ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ.
Translation

✧ When the Muslims fled on the day of Ḥunayn, and Umm Sulaym was with them, she began calling out: “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, they have been defeated,” or words to that effect. He said: “O Umm Sulaym, Allah, Blessed and Exalted, has sufficed.” Abū Ṭalḥah found a pickaxe and said: “What is this, O Umm Sulaym?” She said: “I held onto it; if any of the polytheists came near me, I would rip open his belly.” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, hear what Umm Sulaym says.”
