حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ، نَا عُمَرُ، نَا عِكْرِمَةُ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:
وَنَزَّلَ فِيهِمْ قُرْآنًا، يَعْنِي فِي أَصْحَابِ بِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ: بَلِّغُوا قَوْمَنَا عَنَّا أَنَّا لَقِينَا رَبَّنَا فَرَضِيَ عَنَّا وَأَرْضَانَا، ثُمَّ نُسِخَتْ فَرُفِعَتْ وَنَزَلَتْ: وَلا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ
Translation

✧ And He sent down regarding them, meaning the companions of Bi'r Ma'unah, a Quranic passage: "Convey to our people on our behalf that we have met our Lord and He is pleased with us and has made us pleased." Then it was abrogated and lifted, and was sent down: "And do not consider those who were killed in the way of God as dead, but alive with their Lord, being provided for."
