✧ The Basrans from Anas

وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ; قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَلَّهُ أَشَدُّ فَرَحًا بِتَوْبَةِ عَبْدِهِ حَيْثُ يَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَحَدِكُمْ كَانَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ، فَانْفَلَتَتْ مِنْهُ وَعَلَيْهَا طَعَامُهُ وَشَرَابُهُ، فَأَيِسَ مِنْهَا، فَأَتَى شَجَرَةً، فَاسْتَظَلَّ فِي ظِلِّهَا قَدْ أَيِسَ مِنْ رَاحِلَتِهِ، فَبَيْنَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ إِذَا هُوَ بِهَا قَائِمَةً عِنْدَهُ، فَقَالَ مِنْ سُرُورِهِ كَلِمَةً: أَنْتَ عَبْدِي وَأَنَا رَبُّكَ

Translation

  1. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ God is more intensely pleased with the repentance of His servant when he turns to Him than one of you would be who was on his mount, and it strayed from him while carrying his food and drink. He despaired of it, so he came to a tree and lay down in its shade, having given up on his mount. While he was in that state, suddenly the mount was standing before him. He took hold of its reins, and out of joy he said, out of overwhelming delight: "You are my servant and I am your Lord," making a mistake due to intense joy.
