✧ I am the most knowledgeable of people about the matter of the veil when it was revealed. The first of what was revealed concerning the wives of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was when he consummated his marriage with Zaynab bt. Jahsh. The Prophet ﷺ awoke as a bridegroom and invited the people. They had the food, then they left, but a group of them remained with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and prolonged their stay. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up and went out, and I went out with him, but they did not leave. He walked, and I walked with him until he came to 'A'ishah's room, thinking that they had left. He returned, and I returned with him, and there they were, having left. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew a curtain between me and him, and the veil was revealed.
