حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْأَنْمَاطِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ الدَّشْتَكِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ؓ قَالَ:

صَنَعَ لَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ طَعَامًا، فَدَعَانَا فَأَكَلْنَا وَشَرِبْنَا مِنَ الْخَمْرِ، فَلَمَّا أَخَذَتِ الْخَمْرُ فِينَا، وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ أَمَرُوا رَجُلًا، فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ، فَقَرَأَ: قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ لا أَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ، وَلَكِنْ نَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ، يَعْنِي: فَخَلَطَ فِي قِرَاءَتِهِ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُكَارَى حَتَّى تَعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ

✧ Abd al-Rahman b. Awf prepared food for us and invited us. We ate and drank wine. When the wine took effect on us and the prayer time came, they ordered a man to lead them in prayer. He recited, 'Say: O disbelievers, I do not worship what you worship, but we worship what you worship,' meaning he mixed up his recitation. Then Allah revealed: 'O you who believe, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying.'
