حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْقُرَشِيُّ، نَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، نَا شَرِيكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي نَمِرٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:
بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمًا إِذْ دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَابٍ كَانَ وِجَاهَ الْمِنْبَرِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ هَلَكَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ، فَادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يُغِيثَنَا، فَرَفَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا، اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا، اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا. وَوَاللهِ مَا يُرَى فِي السَّمَاءِ سَحَابٌ وَلَا قَزَعَةٌ، وَلَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ سَلْعٍ مِنْ بَيْتٍ وَلَا دَارٍ، فَطَلَعَتْ مِنْ زَاوِيَتِهِ سَحَابَةٌ مِثْلُ التُّرْسِ، فَلَمَّا تَوَسَّطَتِ السَّمَاءَ انْتَشَرَتْ. قَالَ أَنَسٌ: فَوَاللهِ مَا رَأَيْنَا الشَّمْسَ سِتًّا، ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْبَابِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ الْمُقْبِلَةِ، وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ قَائِمًا، فَلَمَّا اسْتَقْبَلَهُ قَائِمًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَلَكَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ، فَادْعُ اللهَ يُقْلِعْهَا عَنَّا، قَالَ: فَرَفَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَدَيْهِ وَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلَا عَلَيْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ عَلَى الْآكَامِ وَالظِّرَابِ وَبُطُونِ الْأَوْدِيَةِ وَمَنَابِتِ الشَّجَرِ. قَالَ: فَأَقْلَعَتْ وَخَرَجْنَا نَمْشِي فِي الشَّمْسِ. قَالَ شَرِيكٌ: فَسَأَلْتُ أَنَسًا: أَهُوَ الرَّجُلُ الْأَوَّلُ ؟ قَالَ: لَا أَدْرِي

✧ While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering a sermon one day, a man entered through a door that faced the pulpit and said: "O Messenger of Allah, wealth has been destroyed and the roads have been cut off, so supplicate to Allah to send us rain." The Prophet ﷺ raised his hands and said: "O Allah, give us rain; O Allah, give us rain; O Allah, give us rain." By Allah, no cloud or even a small piece of cloud could be seen in the sky, and there was no house or dwelling between us and Sal' [a mountain]. Then a cloud like a shield appeared from its corner, and when it reached the middle of the sky it spread. Anas said: "By Allah, we did not see the sun for six [days]. Then a man came through that same door on the following Friday while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was standing delivering the sermon. When he faced him while standing, he said: 'O Messenger of Allah, wealth has been destroyed and the roads have been cut off, so supplicate to Allah to remove it from us.' The Prophet ﷺ raised his hands and said: 'O Allah, around us and not upon us; O Allah, upon the hills and the rocky outcrops and the beds of the valleys and the places where trees grow.' He said: 'It cleared, and we went out walking in the sun.' Sharik said: 'I asked Anas: Was it the same man as the first? He said: I do not know.'"
