وَنَاهُ عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ، نَا أَبِي، نَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ:

أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ سَاوَمَتْ بِبَرِيرَةَ، فَرَجَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّهُمْ أَبَوْا أَنْ يَبِيعُوهَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَشْتَرِطُوا الْوَلَاءَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ

Translation

✧ Aisha bargained for Barira. The Prophet ﷺ returned from prayer, and she said: 'They refused to sell her unless they stipulated the loyalty.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Loyalty belongs to the one who manumits.'
