وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، نَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، نَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ:
أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَشْتَرِيَ جَارِيَةً فَتُعْتِقَهَا، فَقَالَ أَهْلُهَا: نَبِيعُهَا عَلَى أَنَّ وَلَاءَهَا لَنَا، فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَا يَمْنَعُكِ ذَلِكَ، فَإِنَّمَا الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ
Translation

✧ Aisha wanted to buy a slave girl and then manumit her. Her owners said: 'We will sell her to you on the condition that her loyalty (wala') remains with us.' She mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not let that prevent you, for loyalty belongs to the one who manumits.'
