Translation

✧ Muhammad b. 'Ammar al-Razi narrated to us: Makki narrated to us: Malik narrated to us, and 'Abd Allah b. Ziyad b. Sam'an, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar. Abu Bakr said: 'I think that Makki carried the hadith of 'Abd Allah b. Sam'an, from Nafi', upon the hadith of Malik, so it became confused for him.'

machine translationThis is rejected (munkar). He said: Regarding the one who narrated it from Nāfiʿ, Ibn Zanjalah said: Mālik, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, that the Prophet ﷺ prayed over al-Najāshī. Ibn Abī Sumaynah said: From whom did you take it from Mālik? He said: Makkī b. Ibrāhīm narrated it to us, he said: Mālik informed us. Then Ibn Abī Sumaynah fell silent.

    in مسند البزار, p. 5876
  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationI do not know anyone who narrated this hadith from Mālik other than Makkī b. Ibrāhīm and Ḥubāb b. Jabalah. The sound report from Mālik on this is only what is in the Muwaṭṭaʾ.

    in مسند البزار, p. 5876

machine translationThis is a mistake. It is only Mālik, from al-Zuhrī, from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Makkī was mistaken in it.
